Black people should already be crying foul - a member of the fucking school system won't even help their children strive for a better life. That is, if the students he's targeted are even the "thugs" he speaks of.

Say Traina is right about these particular students, and they are "thugs" who need to be controlled: Re-segregating the schools, pointing the finger at a certain group of people, and talking shit about them on the internet - when you are a trusted school official - is not only detrimental to the students he is supposed to help, but also an absolute threat to society. What does he think he's doing to help this problem of "black people shooting white people" (like he thinks)? Better education and school officials and teachers who care about their higher-risk students is what will reduce the crime - not just throwing them to the side and assuming they're going to shoot someone. If these kids are actually at risk for violent behavior, what they need is positive role models. Discipline is obviously helpful, as well, but casting them aside and then being a blatant racist will help no one. Whether he is making unfair assumptions or fair assumptions, he's not doing his fucking job and not helping the situation.

This is unfortunately a very common sentiment in the right-outside-of-New-Orleans areas. Jefferson Parish is the area where white people escaped to when they desegregated the schools. Now, it is cheaper to live there and lower income people (many minorities) have been pushed out there by rising property values (so, rent) in the city, and especially by Hurricane Katrina. In the safest areas of New Orleans, they are afraid to walk to their cars because of "colored" people (this is something I've heard on more than one occasion). It's sickening.
