TUSCALOOSA, Ala. --

Four University of Alabama football players are indefinitely suspended from the team after being arrested Monday night and charged with crimes connected to two robbery incidents earlier that day.

According to the University of Alabama, Tyler Hayes was arrested for two counts of second-degree robbery. Dennis Pettway was arrested for two counts of second-degree robbery. Eddie Williams was arrested for two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of fraudulent use of a credit card. Brent Calloway was arrested for one count of fraudulent use of a debit card.

All of the charges are felonies.

Depositions show that Pettway, Hayes and Williams allegedly attacked a student around 12:30 a.m. Monday, punching him in the head and face while kicking him in the rib and back area until he was unconscious. A backpack containing an Apple Macbook Pro was allegedly taken during the incident.

Around 1:33 a.m., the deposition continues, Williams allegedly assaulted another student until he was unconscious, taking his wallet containing money, a UA Action Card and debit/credit cards. Hayes and Pettway allegedly waited in a vehicle with full knowledge of Williams’ intent to commit the crime.

Then, around 4:22 a.m., the deposition shows Williams and Calloway are accused of using the second victim’s UA Action Card/Debit Card to obtain snacks from a vending machine.

They were all booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail, and posted bond.

Williams was also arrested Sunday on an unrelated gun charge. 

Coach Nick Saban announced today they would be indefinitely suspended from the team.

"The University and football program have strict guidelines regarding issues of this magnitude. This behavior is unacceptable for any student-athlete at the University of Alabama and not representative of our football program," a statement from Saban read. 

“This is a very serious matter and we are very disappointed in the actions that have resulted in the charges against these student-athletes," UA Athletic Director Mal Moore added. "In this type of situation, the Athletics Department works in conjunction with the University. We will have more to say at the appropriate time.”
