fatuous1 is MARK TRAINA an outspoken Civil Rights Activist from South Louisiana. Some describe him as a Racist; however, he describes himself as a Realist. Mr. Traina worked as a School Psychologist for the Jefferson Parish Public School System for nearly 30-years. He is currently retired and spends his days reading articles on-line and writing about current events from his personal perspective. Mr. Traina has is the Author of “THE REALIST”, a book published in 2012, shortly after his retirement from the JPPSS. He is also famous for his so-called TRAINAISMS, for example, “Good parents know that structure, discipline and respect for authority must start in the home or it will never end up in the School!”
FACTS: Mr. Traina grew up in New Orleans attending only Publicly Funded Schools. Mark graduated from Marion Abramson Senior High School in May of 1975 and obtained his B.A. in Economic (1979). Mr. Traina also obtained an M.A. in Counseling Psychology (1983) from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. Dr. JOE Olmi NEEDS 2 GEAUX!
ReplyDeleteThe Jefferson Parish School System has paid Dr. Joe nearly $500,000 and he has accomplished "ZERO"!
In December of 2005, the JEFFERSON PARISH PUBLIC SCHOOL SYSTEM entered into a CORRECTIVE ACTION PLAN based on a Fallacious Complaint made by the SOUTHERN POVERTY LAW CENTER to the LOUISIANA STATE DEPARTMENT of EDUCATION.
Dr. Joe Olmi an Educator from Hattiesburg, Mississippi was hired by the JPPSS to bring the JPPSS into Compliance with the SPLC Mandates.
Dr. Diane Roussel who was the Superintendent of JPPSS during that time frame.
The SPLC alleged that Black Youths were over-represented in both Special Education and Alternative School Populations. Furthermore, the SPLC alleged that Black Youths were the Victims of both Unfair Treatment and Racial Discrimination in regards to the JPPSS Discipline Policies and Procedures.
FACT: The SPLC Filed these Fallacious Complaints against the JPPSS knowing full-well that deprivation and dysfunction was the RULE, rather than the EXCEPTION in a Significantly Disproportionate Number of Black Families in Jefferson Parish.
FACT: The SPLC knows that Louisiana has the highest per capita Black Incarceration Rate in the United States of America.
FACT: The SPLC knows that a Significantly Disproportionate Number of Black Students are absent from school on a daily basis, are much more likely to come from impoverished homes and Drug and Thug Infested Communities.
The SPLC was also aware of the following information:
The Average American High School Graduate has an IQ of 100
The Average White Student in America has an IQ of 108
The Average Hispanic Student in America has an IQ of 92
The Average Black Student in America has an IQ of 83
Based on those figures alone “REALIST EDUCATORS” like me can accurately predict that 80% of all Black Students in America will “NEVER EVER” get a High School Diploma.
FACT: The JPPSS should have “NEVER EVER” entered into a Corrective Action Plan with the State of Louisiana Department of Education based on a Fallacious SPLC Complaint. In hindsight, this is a Case that should have been contested in a Court of Law.
Because of the Decisions made by a Group of Gutless Educators afraid to stand up for the TRUTH, the WHOLE TRUTH and NOTHING but the TRUTH back in 2005, the JPPSS continues to suffer from the consequences of their poor decision in 2013.
FACT: In March of 2013, chaos is the order of the day in far too many Jefferson Parish Classrooms and School Campuses. Sadly, Dr. Olmi has actually accomplished ABSOLUTELY NOTHING POSITIVE with regard to Discipline Policies and Procedures within the JPPSS.
TRUE: Fewer and fewer Disruptive Students are being shipped off to Alternative Schools, which does not in any mean that these Disruptive Students no longer exist, because they CERTAINLY do.
FACT: The School System Guided by Dr. Joe Olmi has made it next to impossible for a Student to be moved off of a Regular School Campus, thereby, creating more Chaos in Regular Schools and Classrooms.
FACT: Many Great Teachers in Jefferson Parish are totally fed up with little classroom support they are currently receiving. They constantly complain about disruptive and unruly Students. Some of these Educators have simply walked off the Job others have decided to take Early Retirements.
The situation in the JPPSS 8-years later is BAD, REALLY BAD, and Dr. Joe needs to GEAUX!
FACT: Fewer and fewer White Students are showing up on JPPSS Campuses each year. “WHITE FLIGHT” continues to be the order of the day throughout Jefferson Parish. Far too many White Students fear their Black Counterparts and Home-Schooling is becoming a much safer and viable option.
