FACT: College Football and Basketball Player are treated like Modern Day Gladiators and just like in the olden days of Greece and Athens. However, once they have served their time or can no longer play the Game they become "CAST AWAYS", "EXPENDABLES" and "DISCARDS"!
FACT: College Football and Basketball Programs should be for Student Athletes, rather than a Minor League Program for the NFL and the NBA!
SIMPLY STATED: College should be more about College than how many Games the Home Football or Basketball Team can win!

QUESTION: Please tell me what the HELL good is a Scholarship if you are "NEVER EVER" going to Graduate and why the HELL are College Coaches like Nick Saban, Les Miles and Urban Meyer Recruiting People that they know will "NEVER EVER" Graduate from College.
FACT: College Football and Basketball Player are treated like Modern Day Gladiators and just like in the olden days of Greece and Athens. However, once they have served their time or can no longer play the Game they become "CAST AWAYS", "EXPENDABLES" and "DISCARDS"!
FACT: College Football and Basketball Programs should be for Student Athletes, rather than a Minor League Program for the NFL and the NBA!
SIMPLY STATED: College should be more about College than how many Games the Home Football or Basketball Team can win!
FACT: As a College Soccer Coach, at Nicholls State University back in the 80's and at UNO throughout the 90's, I was always much more concerned about how many of my Student Athletes actually graduated from College than how many Games we won.
FACT: It seems to me that College Athletics has taken on a Life of its own, a Life that has actually drifted far away from Academia. No doubt about it College Athletics is now in a League of its own.

The fatuous1 has decided to stay on as PRESIDENT of the Prestigious "LOUISIANA BLOGGERS CLUB" UFN, however, William Jefferson will be stepping to the Plate as the CFO and Sal Pericone will be the Acting CEO, as well as, the LBC's On-Line Spokes Person until a Full-Time Replacement can be found for him. Instead, they are isolated, punished and pushed out. "Zero-tolerance" policies criminalize minor infractions of school rules, while high-stakes testing programs encourage educators to push out low-performing students to improve their schools' overall test scores. Students of color are especially vulnerable to push-out trends and the discriminatory application of discipline.
The ACLU believes that children should be educated, not incarcerated. We are working to challenge numerous policies and practices within public school systems and the juvenile justice system that contribute to the school to prison pipeline.

The Poverty Rate for Young Uneducated Black Mothers and their Offspring is Staggering in MOST Urban Areas of the United States.

There are 1,183,700 violent crimes committed in the public schools in a given year, according to reports from the Department of Education and the Department of Justice. But there are only 1,209,000 violent crimes reported to the police in any given year—in the entire country! So what gives? Many violent crimes happening in schools are not reported to the police, including half of the “serious” violent incidents. Why are there more violent crimes happening in the public schools than on the streets? Are parents aware of the pressure cooker of violence simmering away in public schools in the present day?
