JOHN Mc DONOGH HIGH SCHOOL BOARD MEETING (03-05-2013)
The fatuous1 attended the School Board Meeting at John Mc Donogh High School today at 10:00 AM.
At that Meeting, I had the opportunity to meet the School Principal Dr. Calvin Thompson, the CEO of "FUTURE IS NOW" Charter School Operator Steve Barr, all of the JMHS School Board Members, a few of the Faculty Members, lots of very concerned Parents, Community Leaders, as well as, some of the most wonderful Students on PLANET EARTH.
I must admit that I was very impressed by the Commitment of everyone in attendance. This seems to be a CHARTER SCHOOL PROGRAM that is DEFINITELY geared for SUCCESS!
How I wish that I could give you the "LOW DOWN" about JOHN Mc DONOGH HIGH SCHOOL, but I haven't found anything but "HIGH GROUND".
FACT: Steve Barr seems to be running a 1st Class Operation and he has surrounded himself with a bunch of very Committed and Caring Educators and Staff Personnel. I was also delighted by the Community Commitment at JMHS and very Proud of a fellow retiree from the Jefferson Parish Public School System who offered her Teaching Services to the School Totally Free of Charge.
FACT: More Retired Educators need to get back into the Classroom.
FACT: Anyone who has ever had the opportunity to read any of my Educational Writings will tell you that the fatuous1 is no Friend of the American Charter School Movement. However, in all fairness you have to "GIVE THE DEVIL HIS DUE", and by that standard, so far so good Mr. Steve Barr and the Faculty and Staff at John Mc Donogh High School.

fatuous1 is MARK TRAINA an outspoken Civil Rights Activist/Certified School Psychologist from South East Louisiana. Additionally, he is currently the President of the Prestigious “LOUISIANA BLOGGERS CLUB”! Some describe Mr. Traina as a Racist; however, he describes himself as a “REALIST”.
OCCUPATIONAL HISTORY:  Mr. Traina worked as a School Psychologist for the Jefferson Parish Public School System for nearly 30-years. He is currently retired and spends his days reading articles on-line and writing about current events from his personal perspective.
Mr. Traina has is the Author of “THE REALIST”, a book published in 2012, shortly after his retirement from the JPPSS. He is also very famous for his so-called TRAINAISMS, for example, “Good parents know that structure, discipline and respect for authority must start in the home or it will never end up in the School!” Mr. Traina writings have been Published in News Papers, Magazines and Blog Sites across the Globe!
FACTS: Mr. Traina grew up in New Orleans attending only Publicly Funded Schools. Mark graduated from Marion Abramson Senior High School in May of 1975 and obtained his B.A. in Economic (1979). Mr. Traina also obtained an M.A. in Counseling Psychology (1983) from Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana.
