For more than a month, Baltimore residents made it abundantly clear how they
felt about the city’s police department. Awash in anger over the controversial
death of Freddie Gray, black citizens took to the streets in protest and
demanded justice. District Attorney Marilyn Mosby gave the mob what they
wanted, filing criminal charges against the officers deemed responsible for
Gray’s death. All was once again peaceful in Baltimore. Or was it? The
protests, rioting, and looting may have abated, but black Baltimore residents
are being murdered at an alarming rate. In 30 days, more than 30 people have
been killed, giving the city one of the worst murder rates in the country. “In
any other community, these numbers would be jaw-dropping,” Reverend Jamal
Bryant told the Washington Post. Even in a community as eaten up with violence
as Baltimore, the uptick in homicide is cause for alarm. Mayor Stephanie
Rawlings-Blake has cautioned against concluding that Baltimore officers are
shirking their duties, but that’s exactly what many believe is happening. After
all of the protests and accusations and assaults, some are concerned that local
officers are reluctant to patrol with the same vigilance. One anonymous officer
told CBS Baltimore that the Gray case was having a significant impact on how
police carried out their duties. –

In a
recent news report, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s latest “Director of the
Intelligence Project,” Dr. Heidi Beirich, admitted that her company screwed up
in reporting an alleged “hate group” in Little Falls, New York.

 

On
April 23, 2015, staff reporter Stephanie Sorrell-White of the Times of
Herkimer, NY,  tossed Dr. Beirich a fig leaf with a headline of a “Computer glitch to blame for hate group misinformation,” but
the fact is that the SPLC’s “Hate Map” is nothing more than a blatant
fundraising tool.

 

Dr.
Beirich, a long-time SPLC alumna, has only recently taken over the dubious
position of “Director” from her predecessor, the arch-PR guru, Mark Potok.

online race comments stir controversy, draw official rebuke!

 

A Duke
University political science professor has drawn controversy and an official
rebuke for racial generalizations he made comparing African-Americans and
Asian-Americans in response to a recent New York Times editorial.

 

Prof. Jerry
Hough, 80, whose staff profile says he has served
as a professor since 1973 at the private institution in Durham,
North Carolina, posted a six-paragraph comment on May 10 on the Times website
underneath an opinion piece from the previous day about Baltimore’s history of
housing discrimination.

 

“This editorial
is what is wrong,” wrote Hough. “The blacks get awful editorials like this that
tell them to feel sorry for themselves.”

 

The holder of
three degrees from Harvard University and author of 14 books, largely on Soviet
politics, then said that Asian-Americans “worked doubly hard” even though they
“were discriminated against as least as badly as blacks.”

 

He added, “I am
a professor at Duke University. Every Asian student has a very simple old
American first name that symbolizes their desire for integration. Virtually
every black has a strange new name that symbolizes their lack of desire for
integration.

Why
Suspending Criminal Blacks from School is Not Racism?

 

The
New York Times sinks to a new low in it's efforts to portray self-inflicted
black failure as somehow being white racism. In their article School
Suspensions Lead to Legal Challenge by Erik Eckholm, they make the
accusation that the disparity in suspension rates for black and white students
is racism.

He does this by distorting the facts in a school suspension case in North
Carolina, then parades a collection of far-left education experts to support
his cause. Again we have another case of anti-white racism in the guise of
journalism.

 

Here
I will explore several facets of this issue in the hope reason and truth will
prevail. Facts are not racism, but hiding those facts under a cloud of racism
accusations and political correctness does nobody any good.

The outcome of black and other failure prone minority communities is due
directly to their irresponsible behavior compounded by lack of economic
opportunity and liberal white culture promoting destructive values.

It must be up to them to address those problems and stop this "I'm a
victim" mentality. Poor whites outnumber poor blacks by three to one, yet
in Virginia almost two-thirds of the crime is committed by the 20% of the
population that is black.

Note: they don't release crime rates by race in North Carolina, or at least I
can't find it.

The claims of Eckholm is "At issue is the routine use of suspensions
not just for weapons or drugs but also for profanity, defiant behavior, pushing
matches and other acts that used to be handled with a visit to the principal's
office or detention. Such lesser violations now account for most of the 3.3
million annual suspensions of public school students. That total includes a sharp
racial imbalance: poor black students are suspended at three times the rate of
whites, a disparity not fully explained by differences in income or
behavior."
