Four men were killed and 14 people have been injured in shootings across the city since Friday evening.
The most recent fatal shooting happened about 3 a.m. Saturday on the Near West Side. Officers responded to a call of a person shot in the 1200 block of West Washburne and found a 22-year-old man on the sidewalk, with multiple gunshot wounds to the leg, police said. Jamal Coleman, of the 5400 block of West Monroe, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office. A 23-year-old man, later walked in to Stroger hospital with a gunshot wound in his leg and told authorities he had been hurt in the same attack, police said.
