How to INTERACT with POLICE OFFICERS during a TRAFIC STOP or an INVESTIGATION. How you interact with a Police Officer during a trafic stop or an invetigation will often set the stage for how the officer will interact with you. Police Officers are trained to deescalate situations, however, they are also trained to call for backup and to secure situations before things get out of hand. When approached by a Police Officer be respectful and follow his of her directives without making excuses or being uncooperative. If you haven't done anything wrong you'll more often than not be on your way in a matter of moments. If it's a minor trafic violation you may simply get a ticket, which is not big deal. If you do get a ticket you can simply go to court and let the Judge know that you learned your lesson or repaired the vehicle. Do not argue with the officer, because the officer is simply doing his or her job.
