Attorney of Orleans Parish has joined Mayor Mitch Landrieu in calling on the
Governor to authorize the deployment of state troopers to New Orleans on a
"more permanent" basis.

short-staffed NOPD doesn't have the manpower needed to tackle the crime

Cannizzaro says the
city is in "a crisis mode" and it would be in the state's economic
interest to dispatch troopers to New Orleans.

major economic hub for the state of Louisiana. If we do things to scare
the tourists away then we hurt this community and ultimately the state of
