Two "YOUNG BLACK THUGS" plead GUILTY to CARJACKING a N'Orleans Judge!
Two "YOUNG BLACK CARJACKERS" have pleaded guilty to carjacking Orleans Parish Criminal District Judge Frank Marullo outside his Carrollton home in May. Marullo, 74, the longest-serving judge in Louisiana, said Saturday he has not given much thought to the robbery since it happened and has remained undisturbed by it. He was not harmed in the robbery, though his car was totaled.
Demetrius Givens Jr., 19, was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty Friday to carjacking and simple robbery. Leonard Robinson, 19, pleaded guilty to the same counts and was sentenced to three years. The case was adjudicated by Robert Burns, a retired Jefferson Parish judge who was appointed to handled it.
"I think the sentences were fair," Marullo said. "They're young offenders. ... I think the sentences were really fair."
The outcome for a third defendant, who was tried in Juvenile Court, could not be determined.
Police caught Givens, Robinson and the juvenile in the Hollygrove neighborhood shortly after one of the carjackers crashed Marullo's car into a utility pole in the 3500 block of Leonidas Street, about two miles from the judge's house. Police had been chasing the vehicle.
Marullo said he had dined at Mandina's restaurant on May 21 and was getting out of his car at his home in the 7900 block of Birch Street when five men approached and demanded the vehicle. He handed over his wallet and keys to his white 2011 Mercedes-Benz 300 Series sedan.
He said he thought the two other carjackers were never caught, just like an intruder he wrestled with inside his home in the 1980s. "I really don't have any particular feelings about it," he said of the fact that some of his assailants remained at large.
"Really, I've been doing this for a long time. I'm in my 40th year there, so I've been very familiar with this kind of situation, so I was not affected in any way," Marullo said. "When you deal with this thing every day, every day, it doesn't give (one) a lot of thoughts about it," Marullo said. "That's what I do every day, is listen to criminal defendants. Crime's part of my life."

Corkins took a gun from his backpack and fired three shots at building manager Leo Johnson, one of them wounding the unarmed Johnson in the arm before he wrested the gun from Corkins. On February 6 Corkins pleaded guilty to three felonies: committing an act of terrorism while armed, interstate transportation of a firearm and ammunition (he had bought the weapon in Virginia), and assault with intent to kill while armed. He faces a sentencing hearing on April 29 that could include up to 70 years in prison. According to federal prosecutors’ statements in court documents, Corkins told investigators that he had intended to kill Johnson and numerous other FRC employees. His backpack contained 15 sandwiches from the fast-food chain Chick-fil-A, whose founder, S. Truett Cathy, contributed through his family foundation to several organizations opposed to gay marriage, including the FRC. According to prosecutors, Corkins said he had planned to smear the faces of the dead FRC employees with the sandwiches once his shooting spree ended.
Corkins found out about the FRC from the ever-expanding (at least in recent years) list of “hate groups” tracked on the website of the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a civil-rights behemoth bursting with donor cash headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama. Cofounded in 1971 by Morris S. Dees Jr. and Joseph Levin Jr. (who is now general counsel), the SPLC started out fighting legal battles against lingering segregation in the South. More recently—and more lucratively, its critics say—it has transformed itself into an all-purpose antihate crusader, labeling 1,007 different organizations across America at last count as “anti-gay,” “white nationalist,” “anti-Muslim,” “anti-immigrant,” or just plain hateful (one SPLC category is “general hate”). The SPLC put the FRC on its list of “anti-gay” organizations in 2010, and the SPLC’s “Hate Map” page, whose banner displays men in Nazi-style helmets giving Sieg Heil salutes, lists the FRC among 14 hate groups headquartered in the District of Columbia. The Hate Map doesn’t include the groups’ street addresses, but those typically take only a few seconds to find with Google. A Louisville woman is
accused of boarding a Jefferson County Public Schools bus and attacking the
driver and bus monitor, and police say the suspect's three young children
helped her.

just before 5 p.m. February 19. The warrant states it all started after the bus

Yancey's children's
father, Stepfon Nolan says their 9 year old daughter got off the bus yelling
that she had been hit when she came off the bus. The report states she claimed
she was hit by the bus monitor, but Nolan and Yancey said it was the bus driver
that placed a hand on her.

Nolan claims that's when
Yancey boarded the bus to find out what was going on. "It could have been

Yancey was arraigned in
court Friday morning. She asked the judge if she could say something.

represents JCPS bus drivers and monitors. President John Stovall says their
fortunate this doesn't happen more often. He encourages drivers to get
officials involved at the first sign of trouble.

The incident happened in
front of about 10 children under the age of 10 who were passengers on the bus
as well as parents who were waiting for their children at the bus stop. A
surveillance camera on board the bus captured the incident on video, according
to JCPS.

The bus monitor suffered soreness to the head and abdomen and was
treated at a medical facility. The bus driver had no visible injuries,
according to investigators.

Police said JCPS has had ongoing problems with Yancey and criminal
charges have been filed against her in the past. She now has been banned from
JCPS property, including the bus stop for a year.

Yancey is charged in this case with criminal
trespassing, terroristic threatening, third-degree assault, unlawful
transaction with a minor and disorderly conduct.

Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark said that it will be difficult for the NFL to police the use of the N-word with 15-yard penalties, especially because the word is used so often, especially by black players.
"I think it's going to be really tough to legislate this rule, to find a way to penalize everyone who uses this word," Clark said on Sunday during ESPN's Outside the Lines' special report on the "N-Word." "And it's not going to be white players using it toward black players. Most of the time you hear it, it's black players using the word."
The NFL is reportedly considering penalizing players 15 yards if they use racial or anti-gay slurs on the playing field.
John Wooten, the head of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, a group that monitors diversity, said last week that he "expects the league to institute a rule where players would be penalized 15 yards for using the N-word on the field." Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said the competition committee is looking at any unintended consequences of the potential rule, which may be adopted next month when the owner's meet.
